Mark Badami has over three decades of financial planning experience and specializes in advanced estate planning concepts including business continuity with an emphasis on qualified plan designs.  Mark’s passion for supporting business owners with comprehensive planning solutions is one of the main reasons he joined The Legacy Group.  Mark is also a primary resource in the qualified planning arena with Accountants/CPAs who are members of the National Network of Accountants. The National Network of Accountants is a leading and innovative organization established to educate and train accounting professionals on how to grow their business by implementing financial planning into their practices.

Mark graduated from The State University of New York, New Paltz, in 1992, with a degree in finance and minors in both economics and political science. With a desire to serve his country Mark enlisted proudly in the United States Marine Corp. After serving his country well he was honorably discharged and decided to follow his passion and pursue a career in financial planning.

Some of Mark’s business recognitions include the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification, and a seven-time Court of the Table member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) which is the premier association of leading financial professionals from 2004-2010. 

Mark’s community involvement includes Boxing for the Long Island Fight for Charity in 2004 and 2010 where he has helped to raise over $100,000. All proceeds went to ten local charities. He was also a member of the American Associations’ Heart Gala board, which raised over $350,000 in 2005 and 2007. He continues to be active with the organization and currently sits on the American Heart Advisory Counsel. The counsel helps bring awareness of the American Heart Association for charitable planning purposes. He has served as a committee member for the Long Island Elite Charity Masquerade Ball in 2005 to 2008. In addition to the ball being the most talked about event on Long Island; it raised over $1,000,000 for local charities. He is also a board member of ASPPA Benefits Council of New York City, an organization committed to bringing up-to-date information regarding pensions to the area third-party administrators and advocates to Law Makers with regard to Pension Reform.

Currently, Mark sits on the board of the Financial Planning Association of Long Island as its chapter’s past Board President and Chairman of the Board. FPA of LI is an advocate for the financial planning community and its law makers. Keeping up to date with the latest trends and law changes is one of the organization’s primary roles.

Mark also remains actively involved in the Long Island business community and periodically has been interviewed by News 12 on financial planning and related issues as well as was quoted in Newsday, Advisor Today and Long Island Business News.
